Weathering the shock of the Oil Embargoes and
unpredictable component cost fluctuations of the 70’s, South Coast
not only survived, but also was able to grow. Operations continued
to expand with the acquisition of the Wallisville Road Site from
Olin.
The 80’s were a period of rapid growth for South
Coast not only in Automotive Lubricants and in Industrial

sub-micron filtration and an IBC filling facility followed. The Port
Terminal Facility expanded its operations to include blending of
Fuel Additives as well as its growing chemical distribution
business. In 1988, South Coast acquired the assets of Pacer
Lubricants, which later became the Pacer Lubricants Division of
South Coast Terminals, LP.
