OUR HISTORY

South Coast Terminals, Inc., located in the Houston, Texas area was established in 1964 to fill a need for quality terminaling, warehousing, packaging and custom blending/processing services.

Tony Wilson and Bill Holt, a former President of ILMA (at that time known as IOCA – Independent Oil Compounders Association) formed South Coast Terminals as a privately owned lubricants blending and packaging company in 1966.  Operations commenced with a single facility located at 800 Middle Street in Houston.

Amoco Oil was one of the first of many major oil companies to sign an exclusive toll blending and distribution agreement with South Coast Terminals. Amoco was soon followed by Gulf and the company began its expansion history.

In addition to meeting the growing demand for high quality automotive and industrial lubricants domestically, South Coast developed two product lines of Automotive and Industrial Lubricants to serve offshore markets. The Olympic and Silver Star product lines are still active throughout Central and South America. Through the Gulf Oil relationship, South Coast was instrumental in the introduction of blended Synthetic Oils into the industrial and consumer markets. As the Lubricant business continued to grow, South Coast continued to expand through the acquisition of a deep-water facility located on the Houston Ship Channel.  The Port Terminal facility added marine accessibility to its land bound capabilities.
